It can be difficult to decide which of the many different types of
childcare and early education offered is best for your child. Among the
most important points to consider are the training and experience offered
by childcare staff, whether the premises are safe, clean and stimulating
and the learning and play opportunities presented.
Ofsted inspects and registers all childcare
providers and maintains and distributes lists of all private nursery
schools, playgroups and other care facilities for pre-school
children. These lists are also available from the Warwickshire
Childcare Information Service.
You can also advertise for nannies,
mother's helps or child carers in the domestic vacancies section of the
local newspapers, and there are agencies which can supply permanent and
temporary nannies and mother's helps. There are also various NNEB and
BTEC child care courses in operation at colleges in the area, and these
may provide a source of trained personnel for your requirements.
